Avocado Toast - What's the Big Deal?
So I realize I'm about a year late on this trend, but bare with me.
The first time I saw a blog or recipe about avocado toast I was like: "Are you kidding? What's the big deal? It's literally just avocado on toast."... Then I tried it, and here I am blogging about it.
While Shay and I were in London we stumbled upon this really great coffee shop near our hotel called Freestate Coffee. They have amazing espresso and a small menu of snacks, one of which is their version of avocado toast. We tried it, and fell in love. Since then, I have replicated it a few times and decided that it's just too delicious and too simple not to share.
Avocado Toast
- Fresh baked bread
 - Avocado (slightly mushy)
 - Olive oil
 - Honey
 - Salt
 - Pepper
 - Cracked red pepper

- If possible, use fresh baked bread from the bakery. I used an artesian bread that was baked fresh at Trader Joe's (so nothing too fancy, but better than thinly, pre-sliced sandwich bread)
 - Lightly toast or microwave the bread, then drizzle some olive oil & sprinkle salt and pepper on it
 - Mash the avocado in a bowl with a little bit of honey
 - Spread the mashed avocado mix on the bread and add a dash of cracked red pepper

Enjoy!
