Austin Photo Diary

I flew to Austin at the end of January for a quick girl’s weekend / mini-college reunion. Kathryn met us there from Dallas - I hadn’t seen her in 3 years! And Ciara met us there from Phoenix - I hadn’t seen her in 1.5 years! What’s that cliché about true friends letting so much time pass, but then picking things up right where they left off? Well, whatever it is – it’s true. I wish so much that these girls lived closer, but it’s comforting to know that we can live far apart and still remain close.

We did the typical Austin things on our trip: we ate tacos every 6 hours, bar-hopped on Rainey Street, and took pictures in front of as many murals as we could find. However, one of my favorite things we did was check out Austins hottest 90's band - “Chandler and the Bings”. They played all the hits from 10pm to 1am, and we sang along to every single song!

These signs were all over the Bouldin neighborhood and they created some interesting conversation among the three of us.

"What do you think this means?" ... "I think it means this neighborhood is accepting of all people." ... "Yea that sounds right." ... "Guys, I just Googled it, and it actually means peacocks are welcome here. Apparently some people don't like them." ... "Umm, they know peacocks can't read right?"
