Megan + Tony + Seb - Mother's Day Session

I meet up with Megan, Tony, and Sebastian at a park near their house on Mother’s Day for a little photoshoot. This was my third time snapping photos of this sweet family. Every time I see this trio, I’m reminded of why I do what I do. Taking photos of people can be incredibly personal. I love that each session builds off of the last one, and each time we meet is an opportunity to learn more about them and share their story…

Amit + Soms + Rey - Family Stroll in Lakeview

When I️ planned this fall session with Amit, Soms, and Rey, we hoped and expected to do pictures in the park with changing leaves in the background. Instead, we woke up to a 35-degree day with snow and ice still on the ground from the day before. Winter came early, and we needed a Plan B allowing for us to take shelter inside!...

Kirstin + Pat + Ella - Home Sweet Home

A couple of weeks ago I met with Kirstin, Pat, and Ella at their home in the Western Suburbs. Kirstin wanted a family picture in front of their house for this year’s holiday card. Once I pulled up, I thought to myself, “We can definitely work with this!” (I mean, just look at that curb appeal!) ...

An Afternoon at the Lincoln Park Zoo

On Sunday my entire family was in Chicago for the day. The boys all went to The Bears game while the ladies had lunch and went to the Lincoln Park Zoo. I’m obviously biased, but I have the most adorable little nieces and they have the most beautiful mothers. I love making memories with these people and documenting our time together. It's fun for me and my sisters get to keep the pictures, win-win!

Megan + Tony + Sebastian - Autumn in Lincoln Park

A couple of weeks ago I met with Megan, Tony, and 9-month old baby boy Sebastian for family photos in Lincoln Park. We used The Nature Boardwalk and the park outside the zoo as our backdrop. Both of which are practically in their own backyard! It felt like they were right at home, having tickle fights in the grass and helping Sebastian walk around to see the world at his eye level...

What It Looks Like to Have Fun in Milwaukee

It might be hard to believe, but I'm not always the best at documenting our life. I know, I know... it's basically my job, but sometimes I drop the ball. I'm great at taking the pictures, but I'm not always the best at getting them online. Sometimes I feel pressure to edit like they're going to a client, and then post them with beautifully written content to accompany each photo...

What We Spent on Our Trip to Italy

My husband and I feel very fortunate that until recently all our European travels have been piggy-backed onto work trips. This has saved us thousands of dollars in the past, and made traveling internationally fairly affordable for us. I find it important to clarify our past travel budgeting experiences, because I'm about to share exactly what we spent on our trip to Italy over the summer.

Our Italian Adventure: Part 3 - Capri

Shay and I got back from our Italy adventure in early September. While we there we visited Rome, Positano, and Capri. I’ve been blogging about each place and sharing with you exactly what we did. After this blog series I’m going to share our budget for this trip (spoiler alert, we’re broke)! My hope is that I can help future Italian adventurers plan accordingly and learn from our experience...

Our Italian Adventure: Part 2 - Positano

Shay and I returned from our Italy adventure earlier this month. While we were there we visited Rome, Positano, and Capri. I'll be blogging about each place and sharing with you exactly what we did. At the end of this blog series I’m going to share our budget for this trip (spoiler alert, we’re broke)! My hope is that I can help future Italian adventurers plan accordingly and learn from our experience...

Our Italian Adventure: Part I - Rome

Shay and I got back from our Italy adventure on Sunday afternoon. Thankfully Monday was a holiday, because we were much more jet-lagged than we thought we’d be. On Monday we woke up wide awake around 6am and then transferred to the living room couch where we ate donuts from Stan’s (ah, we missed you), drank coffee, and watched two movies (one of them Angels & Demons, strictly because it takes place in Rome, no judgement please)...
