Fireplace Mantel

Almost immediately after we moved into our new home I knew our fireplace needed a face-lift. It was dirty, missing doors, and mantel-less. A couple of months ago, Shay and I installed glass doors, cleaned out the inside and added candles (blog here). A few weeks ago my father-in-law, Wes, came to visit. As usual, he helped out around the house: hanging frames, painting, and ... (drum roll) ... hanging the custom, hand-crafted mantel he made for us. It's a perfect fit, and exactly what I had envisioned.
