DC Photo Diary + Deep Thoughts

For those of you who know me well, you know that I live for planning adventures. I’ve been told countless times that I should have been a travel agent. I create maps and spreadsheets, I go down rabbit holes researching the cities I’m traveling to, and I always put together a very loose (but calculated) itinerary…

Willow's Senior Portraits - Class of 2019

I’ve known Willow her entire life. Willow’s Aunt Brandi started dating my brother Luke before she was even born. When Brandi and Luke got married, Willow and I were both a part of their bridal party (she was a flower girl and I was a bridesmaid). We’re even a part of the same alumni family! In the Spring of 2019, Willow will be graduating from Lincoln-Way East High School…

Danielle + Keenan + Hadley - Nature Boardwalk Photoshoot

Last month I had the pleasure of meeting Danielle, Keenan and their sweet baby girl Hadley for the first time. We met in Lincoln Park and walked the Nature Boardwalk together, snapping photos along the way. This was Hadley's first official photoshoot, and she nailed it! It's hard to take a bad photo of a baby with the most beautiful blue eyes, see for yourself…

Megan + Tony + Seb - Mother's Day Session

I meet up with Megan, Tony, and Sebastian at a park near their house on Mother’s Day for a little photoshoot. This was my third time snapping photos of this sweet family. Every time I see this trio, I’m reminded of why I do what I do. Taking photos of people can be incredibly personal. I love that each session builds off of the last one, and each time we meet is an opportunity to learn more about them and share their story…

Amit + Soms + Rey - Family Stroll in Lakeview

When I️ planned this fall session with Amit, Soms, and Rey, we hoped and expected to do pictures in the park with changing leaves in the background. Instead, we woke up to a 35-degree day with snow and ice still on the ground from the day before. Winter came early, and we needed a Plan B allowing for us to take shelter inside!...

Kirstin + Pat + Ella - Home Sweet Home

A couple of weeks ago I met with Kirstin, Pat, and Ella at their home in the Western Suburbs. Kirstin wanted a family picture in front of their house for this year’s holiday card. Once I pulled up, I thought to myself, “We can definitely work with this!” (I mean, just look at that curb appeal!) ...

An Afternoon at the Lincoln Park Zoo

On Sunday my entire family was in Chicago for the day. The boys all went to The Bears game while the ladies had lunch and went to the Lincoln Park Zoo. I’m obviously biased, but I have the most adorable little nieces and they have the most beautiful mothers. I love making memories with these people and documenting our time together. It's fun for me and my sisters get to keep the pictures, win-win!

Megan + Tony + Sebastian - Autumn in Lincoln Park

A couple of weeks ago I met with Megan, Tony, and 9-month old baby boy Sebastian for family photos in Lincoln Park. We used The Nature Boardwalk and the park outside the zoo as our backdrop. Both of which are practically in their own backyard! It felt like they were right at home, having tickle fights in the grass and helping Sebastian walk around to see the world at his eye level...

Stephanie + Jermaine - Downtown Chicago Engagement

I met up with Stephanie and Jermaine last weekend for pictures in and around Olive Park. From there, we ventured to Michigan Avenue where we wrapped up the session in the middle of bustling downtown Chicago.

In addition to sharing their photos, Stephanie and Jermaine agreed to share some of their story. They were so sweet in allowing me to ask them some personal questions for my blog about their relationship, engagement, and future as husband and wife!

Megan + Tony + 3-Month Sebastian

A few weeks ago I met with Megan, Tony, and their three-month old baby boy Sebastian. Megan and Tony asked me to capture family lifestyle pictures of them in and around their newly renovated, 1896 home in Lincoln Park. It was Sebastian's first time in front of a lens. He did so well, and gave us lots of big smiles to work with!

5 Year Anniversary, 1 Year Late

I realize the title of this blog is pretty confusing. Let me clarify. Shay and I are celebrating our six year wedding anniversary today! However, my gift to him is a video I put together with footage from our five year anniversary. Bare with me...

Patricia + Joe

Patricia and Joe got married on July 1st, 2016 at the Cook County Courthouse in Downtown Chicago. The ceremony was simple and intimate, with just a handful of loved ones surrounding them as they committed their lives to one another...
